Enhancing bispectrum estimators for galaxy redshift surveys with velocities

چکیده

We forecast the ability of bispectrum estimators to constrain primordial non-Gaussianity using future photometric galaxy redshift surveys. A full-sky survey with resolution $\sigma_z/(1+z)=0.05$ in range $0.2<z<2$ can provide constraints $\sigma(f^\mathrm{local}_\mathrm{NL})=3.4$, $\sigma(f^\mathrm{equil}_\mathrm{NL})=15$, and $\sigma(f^\mathrm{orth}_\mathrm{NL})=17$ for local, equilateral, orthogonal shapes respectively, delivering on non-Gaussianities competitive those from cosmic microwave background. generalize these results by deriving a scaling relation amplitude as function error, depth, sky coverage, nonlinear scale cutoff. Finally, we investigate impact that calibration errors largest scales will have constraining power experiments. show peculiar velocities reconstructed via kinetic Sunyaev Zeldovich tomography be used mitigate constraints.

High redshift galaxy surveys

A brief overview on the current status of the census of the early universe population is given. Observational surveys of high redshift galaxies provide direct opportunities to witness the cosmic dawn and to have better understanding of how and when infant galaxies evolve into mature ones. It is a much more astronomical approach in contrast to the physical approach of to study the spatial fluctu...

Measuring Galaxy Environments with Deep Redshift Surveys

We study the applicability of several galaxy environment measures (n-nearest-neighbor distance, counts in an aperture, and Voronoi volume) within deep redshift surveys. Mock galaxy catalogs are employed to mimic representative photometric and spectroscopic surveys at high redshift (z ∼ 1). We investigate the effects of survey edges, redshift precision, redshift-space distortions, and target sel...

Local redshift surveys and galaxy evolution

We present observations of galaxy environmental dependencies using data from the 2dF Galaxy Redshift Survey. From a combined analysis of the luminosity function, Butcher-Oemler effect and trends in Hα line strengths we find support for a model where galaxy properties are mainly set by initial conditions at the time of their formation.

Measuring our Universe from Galaxy Redshift Surveys

Galaxy redshift surveys have achieved significant progress over the last couple of decades. Those surveys tell us in the most straightforward way what our local Universe looks like. While the galaxy distribution traces the bright side of the Universe, detailed quantitative analyses of the data have even revealed the dark side of the Universe dominated by non-baryonic dark matter as well as more...

Gravitational lensing in galaxy redshift surveys

Gravitationally-lensed quasars are both valuable (individually and statistically) and rare. They are mostly discovered through time-consuming re-imaging of known quasars, but can also be found spectroscopically in galaxy redshift surveys. Q 2237+0305 (Huchra et al. 1985) was found in this manner, but remains the only such discovery. Kochanek (1992) predicted that ∼ 1 in 10 redshifts would yield...
